newbie cabinet question
« on: November 27, 2003, 01:58:36 pm »
I'm trying to build my first mame cabinet. I have a completely functional Rim Rockin game. What are my options . I was thinking that I would need an jpac and a arcadevga. Is this the way to go or do I just need the jpac.

Secondly should I take out the power supply and boards that are in the cabinet, from the jamma connection on.
I know these sound like easy qestions to most of you but Im new to this. However I am mechanically inclined so I dont think I will have much problem with the right advice. Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm just starting to build my cab, so take all this advice at that level.

It depends on what you want to do.  If you want to keep the arcade monitor, you'll need a video card that can interface with it along with the jpac.  If you're going to use a PC monitor you can rip it out and use a regular video card.  It sound slike you'll probably want to go with the jpac option though.
