KT-2914F picture shrinked horizontally - need help
« on: December 09, 2013, 03:06:33 pm »
Hi,

I have a big problem with my Betson Imperial 29" (KT-2914F). The picture shrinked horizontally. There is no chance using the OSD to correct the picture (even not with the factory OSD). I technician checked the monitor. He said that the monitor acts correct for him. He also thinks that it has something to do with the eprom that saves the settings but that is nothing he can fix.

I don't know what to do...it is so frustrating. Really need help.

Cheers

I wrote a email to Betson directly and they already awnsered. Really nice service  :applaud:

Here is what they wrote:

The horizontal width problem you have con most likely be resolved by changing 2 poly capacitors, C727 main chassis in front of transistor Q712 mounted on a heat sink by the flyback. They are both orange, look like mini pillows; and both are 4700 pf at 1.6 KV.

While the board is being repaired have the technician check the solder connections on the bottom of the board (especially in the area around the yoke connections). The heat in that area damages the solder connections.

I will give that a try and let you know if it works again....Maybe that helps other with similar problems...
