Heat in Cabinet
« on: December 04, 2013, 09:11:16 am »
I purchased a cab that I think will need some ventilation holes installed. There are some at the bottom - three 1.25 inch holes, but not sure if it'll help with any heat removal.

In the cab will be a PC and monitor, an amp and power supply.  Not sure whether heat is an issue - is it a huge concern, and if so, what can I do to ensure that it doesn't get too warm inside the cab?

Thanks

yotsuya

I live in Arizona, and even during the hottest summer days I've never had a problem with overheating. Just make sure nothing is preventing your components from getting enough air. Mine has three vent holes on the top back, and those seem to do the job.

Heat rises make sure there are vent holes at the bottom to bring in cool air and vents at the top to remove hot air.  If passive cooling is insufficient then a quiet fan at the top blowing out the hot air will assist the cooling.
