Daphne problems
« on: November 29, 2013, 12:38:07 pm »
Can someone help me with Daphne.  I keep getting frame file errors.  Here is the daphne log.  Can anyone help?

Could not open framefile : C:\Program Files\Laser Disk\Dragon's Lair\lair.txt
You must specify a -framefile argument when using VLDP.
If you didn't, then this is the problem. :)
Could not initialize laserdisc player!

Shutting down video display...

I also get  an error when I try to configue the emulator.  This is the error I get with that:

Run-time error '339':
Component 'MSCOMCT2.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi oozing,

Does C:\Program Files\Laser Disk\Dragon's Lair\lair.txt exist?

The MSCOMCT2.OCX error is a windows 7 thing runing an old vb6 application. I forget how i fixed it but it was something like this

http://www.vbforums.com/showthread.php?666309-RESOLVED-Register-mscomct2-ocx-on-windows-7-32-bit

other wise a search for 'MSCOMCT2.OCX windows 7' brings up similar solutions.
If you get this working the config screen can help you out setting it up else you can go the cmd line route but you need this framefile to kick things off usually in a framefile folder.

The file does exist.  The document itself when opened shows:

.

151   lair.m2v

Also, I am running Vista.  Does that matter with the configuration issue?

You need to edit the top line to read: c:\daphne\vldp\lair

Or you path to where you have stored the image file.

Ensure you have the Roms for lair in your Roms folder.

Save the framefile as a text file.

Also you can delete the DAT file so you can reparse the game.

If your on vista then it will be the same as the windows 7 issue I had. you need to register or obtain a new MSCOMCT2.OCX file.

try this theres a bunch of articles about it.
