For those interested in playing with addressable LED strings:
We have a controller which has all the features of our PacLED64 but controls LED strings of 20 RGB LEDs (60 channels).
Its implemented on our Nano USB board which is used on various other of our products and is not much larger than a USB plug. Most standard strings plug right into it. The string must use WS2811 high speed protocol.
Features:
60 LED channels with 256 brightness levels for full RGB color mixing
Can be used with single-color or RGB LEDs (RGB use 3 channels)
128-command flash storage for “attract-mode” sequences which run immediately on power-up with no PC present
Supports single-command fades with preset speed on-board. Multiple fades can overlap
User-assigned IDs allow multiple boards to be connected
Extensive software support including test application, Software Development kit for adding support to your own programs.
Fully compatible with LEDBlinky
Available in our online store now, at a special introductory price of $19.
I will try to get a video of operation done tomorrow, also some documentation would be handy! On the way.
The plan is to expand this to support longer strings if there is sufficient interest and new firmware will be available. Also if there is a requirement to support the low-speed protocol this can be added.
