My wood now travels.

So, I got sick of having a mess of cutoffs and panels that basically collected into a pile of sharp splinter hazards. 



Having eyed 2 12' 2x6es and a 6' 2x4 left by the contractor that worked on my basement, I decided to make my wood a bit more portable.  So, I got out the technical drawing software and created a highly accurate and detailed schematic of what I wanted.



I sourced some wheels that I hadn't used on another project and only had to invest $3.60 for some 1/4" lag bolts for the wheels.  All the other parts came from scraps left over from various projects.  I'll continue to modify it for my needs as scrap pieces accumulate (I'd like to make some hoops for dowels and possibly a push handle), but as it sits, all my scrap fits on it perfectly, it gets wheeled into an unusable part of the garage next to the bikes and my 2'x4' panels are no longer resting on the concrete.  The 2x6 frame is nailed with 16p hot dipped ring shank framing nails (they were laying around) and the rest is a mix of whatever boxes of deck screws that I needed the size of.  Had it built in an hour.

I need to make something similar now that I finally have a table saw.    My scraps are leaning against the wall at the moment.

that's the design I wanted to do, but I wanted to use only what I had laying around.  I'll probably add more to it as I get more cutoffs from projects.  Mine is actually pretty small.  It's 36" wide and 2' deep.  I don't ever keep any panels over 2' x 4' because I only have a little bit of my garage for building.
