Picked up a Silver Strike Bowling cabinet
« on: October 25, 2013, 12:21:55 pm »
When I was at my local operator's shop picking up my 2nd sega model 3 cab, I noticed he had a bunch of goldentee and silver strike cabs. I asked him how much. Like normal he had to check, and would get back to me. Well, yesterday I stopped by, he told me 25$ each. So I looked threw to find the best one. The one I got didn't have a monitor, but everything else was. Including mechs and computer. Got it home, checked it out. Hooked up a pc monitor, started it up. I was pretty happy when I saw the game load. I picked up a Samsung flat screen crt while back. Decases it, bolted it to the frame and got it mounted. I think the picture is pretty good. Cant beat getting a cab for 25$ that works. Have 3 more cabs to get. Area 51 maxforce, buck hunter and a road blaster.

Congrats I'm jealous!  A working cab that appears to be in good condition for only $25!

So once again, we find that evil of the past seeps into the present like salad dressing through cheap wax paper, mixing memory and desire.

geez, that game still brings pretty decent money at auction.
It was a steal for $25.

Where are you getting these cabs from again?  ;)

A few nicks and dings, appears that it was sitting in water. The bottom is a little swelled, reminisce of dirt and mud in the cab. Lucky it wasn't any higher and didnt get the pc or I/O board.

I was thinking, he has that bag toss and golden tee cabs. Could I run all three in the same cab? Also thinking, if I can get my hands on that arcade legends cp art, I might add my mame pc too. Be nice to play games at there native resolution.

Hi Brian, that sounds like a killer deal, any more like that left? I've been thinking of doing the exact same thing for the past week or so. I just made first purchase of a recapped WG 9200 tonight from Chris in Oakdale, it looks perfect.  Might wait for some other nice cabinet (NFL blitz type) to pop up, unless I can figure out how much it would to make runs both GT and Mame smoothly.
Damnit! I'm running low on TP

Nice man! Same cabinet I got, but I paid $60 for mine and it was missing the CP, and all the front kickplate hardware. You got a hell of a deal. Let me know if you decide to to the mame route, I have the same CP with the photoshop all measured out ready to go for artwork and hardware placement.
