Bartop arcade/jukebox "Music Hero" for sale (NSW Australia)
« on: October 22, 2013, 09:51:55 pm »
Hi guys,

I've decided to part with my "Music Hero" scratch-built bartop/jukebox that I built a couple of years ago. It's still in great condition, but with the increasing number of "i-things" in the house and the novelty of Karoke wearing off, it's not getting enough use to keep and I'd rather it go to a good home.

This is a very versatile little bartop cabinet with a touch-screen monitor. It also has hardware navigation buttons on the front, so you can chose your preferred interface for your respective jukebox software. Personally, since I mostly collect singles, I kept coming back to the (basic) DW Jukebox, but you might prefer something more graphical if you collect albums.

The other main features are that the buttons are illuminated on an adjustable sound-reactive circuit, so they pulse/flash to the music. It has a rear admin panel with USB and memory card readers, so that you can configure your jukebox to read from the 'external drives' and 'bring your own music collection'. Obviously it can be used for an admin mouse/keyboard too.

I have a fully configured "Ultrastar" setup for Karaoke, and will include a set of Singstar microphones.

Lastly, because of the aforementioned USB ports, you can plug in desktop control panels and use this as a single or multiplayer MAME (arcade) cabinet.

Note however that despite being a jukebox, it doesn't have any amplifier/speakers directly built in. It was designed so that you can hook up the audio-out port (on the back) into your preferred speaker setup. This makes it more portable and allows you to select speakers suitable to the occasions.

I am asking AU$500 for this. I will also include a wireless USB/PS3 desktop controller (joystick + 6 buttons). On the software side it will have a functional MAME setup and some jukebox software, but I prefer the buyer to customise it to their own preferences and as such, needs to know what they're doing (have some experience with jukebox software and/or mame).

Sale conditions:
* You're buying the hardware. The OS is preloaded and the MAME/jukebox setup is there, but I cannot provide technical support on the software side so experience with jukebox software, windows, and/or MAME and frontends (mala) is highly preferable on your part.
* Music and/or game Roms are not part of the sale.
