Silver strike machine and MAME 2 in 1
« on: October 19, 2013, 01:46:01 pm »
I want to be able to run my silver strike live machine and MAME in the same cabinet. I want to be able to use the same buttons and trackball. Is there some kind of switch out there that I can use, I plan on having an ipac and opti-pac for the MAME side of things.

Sounds like a 2 game jamma switcher would do the job for 90% of your build.  The only custom work that would be required would be to switch the trakball.   If you used a jpac instead of an ipac you can plug right into the jamma switcher.  An extra relay and optipac or optiwiz would have to be added to switch and interface the trakball since it is usually separately wired and not part of the jamma switching.  I think an example of this is on the board somewhere but will have to look for it.
