Help with arcade control in mame
« on: October 11, 2013, 04:09:39 am »
Hi have had my cabinet for a while and decided to change the layout of my buttons,so here's the prob I go in to mame's general settings (using the tab key) change what I want the buttons to do and it's fine but when I leave the game I'm playing and start a diff one they have reset to what they where bebofe in short they are not saving, don't remember having this prob before so any help would be great,I'm using a control board from ultracabs if that helps not an I-PAC also I keep getting 2 buttons showing up as BUTTON 9 ??

what happens if you play a game you have never played before?  If you have customized any in game control settings, there could be a .cfg file for the game you are playing that is overriding the default mame config.  If you select a game you have not played before and it works as it should, then you need to delete the contents of your cfg folder to clear any game specific configurations

Also make sure your folders aren't read-only.  Windows has a few quirks like that...
