WTB: AMD Phenom II chip (Osceola, WI)
« on: October 10, 2013, 10:36:01 am »
I have a spare motherboard laying around my shop that I'd like to build up a nice little workstation with. It's a socket AM3, so I'd like to grab an AMD Phenom for it. Something in the 3.0 ghz range. I don't really care if it's a 2, 3, or 4 core chip, since most of what I will be doing will be single threaded stuff.

Anyone have anything kicking around? Maybe because you upgraded?

I'm open to trades too - I have lots of arcade controls parts as trade bait.

Thanks!
Man, will my cab EVER be finished?

Perhaps.....I have a few machines that I think I'm going to strip and part out.   Not 100% sure what they are atm..5600 and 6400?  I'll have to check when I get home from hell.

Sounds good! Thanks for taking the time to check. My touchscreen juke thanks you ;)

To be honest just about any AMD CPU should be fine, as long as it's faster than a 2.8. The current PC I'm using now has that.

after you hook him up, Im lookin for something better than a AMD Phenom 9500 Quad-Core @2.20
Its my old Gateway PC, and its got 4 GB of ram now, and an SSD drive, but it just needs a little something extra in the CPU department. Its currently my fiancee's desktop now, but she doesnt use it much cause it kinda sucks :/

Last night looked at the garage machine:
AMD x2 6400+

The other two I haven't ripped into yet.....but I think they are 5400+ or so.

So, guessing you'd not be interested in those atm.  My old fart memory is failing me......thought a few of these were faster boxes.  My bad.
