Wiring Issue
« on: October 08, 2013, 03:48:49 pm »
I just put in a 138-in-1 PCB in my old Tekken 3 cab and for some reason the only button that appears to work is button 1P 3 . This brings up the help screen in the ELF system. None of the other controls work at all. The wiring appears to be correctly attached into the the PCB. Any ideas ?

Thanks

Malenko

see if the 138 has a dip switch you need to move and look for a wiring diagram, not all of them were exactly JAMMA

Ok, confirmed with the wiring diagram that is matches. I can enter the set up menu and all the controls work there, just not at the game screen. I set it for free play. So its strange the controls work in the set up menu but not when the game starts in normal mode.

Got it to work, a few settings needed to be adjusted in the config. All good...thanks for the help!

I am having the same issue. How exactly did you fix this?

At the elf menu, I hold down the 1P button and it takes me to a screen that says "Press S1 to set up" and none of the buttons are responsive. The buttons are also unresponsive in the Game List screen but if I let it run until the Defender screen saver comes on and hold the 1P button it gives me the option to "Continue" or "Exit" - if I choose Continue, nothing happens, if I choose Exit I return back to the Game List screen and start all over again.

Please, any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

138 in 1 is NOT jamma. If you just plug it straight into a jamma cabinet without wiring mods then you will have all sorts of control issues. It differs from jamma on the wiring of buttons 4-6. Button 4 and 5 are not really a problem as they are on wires that are normally unused but button 6 is on a line that goes to ground in a properly wired jamma cabinet.

I actually had to build someone an adapter for one of these so he could plug it into his CPS2 wired cabinet without hacking up the wiring.
