Tekken 3 Wiring
« on: October 02, 2013, 05:44:09 pm »
I just set up a used Tekken 3 that I am about to convert. The wiring was a complete mess inside and the main power cord was ripped out. Silly question but where does the ground wire from the main power go ? Does it start by going to the cab base somewhere or does it go directly into the power converter box ?

Thanks!

So after looking at the layout some more I realized that someone added a power switching device. So I have the main power coming in and it first goes to the switch on/off button at the back, just the white and black wires.  The ground is currently not connected to anything, so I have safety concerns obviously.

Should I take that initial ground wire and attach to the on/off switch or connect the ground to the power switch box ?

Don't know what you are refering to as a power switch box unless you mean the metal box around an AC switch.   Anyway in general the ground should go to the frame ground of the cabinet or the ground on the power supply of the cabinet which should be the same point electrically.   A picture of you setup would probably help.

There is a power on / off at the back of the cab. The main power is going into that first but the ground is not connected at all. Picture attached....

Looks like the ground on the line cord is just hanging.   The ground should be connected to the AC ground on the power supply.  It looks like AC Line and AC Neutral are connected and the AC ground looks empty.
