Made my own williams multigame CP (with a little customisation)
« on: September 30, 2013, 06:16:56 am »
hi all, first post here and i thought i'd share this control panel i made on saturday, this was my 2nd attempt, my first attempt was based on guesswork and most of the buttons were in the wrong places, so i got a CPO printed, used that as my template and got to work!

Im pretty happy with how it came out, considering its only my 2nd ever attempt!

Robotron NEEDS a round joystick movement pattern if you want any hope of being good at it. Looks like those are square or octagonal. I thought I could get away with a square pattern on my multiwilliams and I replaced them within 2 days.

Looking at the underside of your panel your restriction plate doesn't have a circular movement pattern. If you aren't a Robotron pro then it really won't matter. If you are then anything other than a circular movement pattern on the stick will make the game quite unenjoyable.

What game is run, jump and run for? Track and Field?

I like it, and the idea.  :applaud:

Not sure if 'Reverse' is a little too far away to be flicked by the thumb though....

reverse fits my thumb just fine :)  on my V1 it was further away and lower down too!!!

yeh the 3 lower buttons are for TnF and HS (and other regular 3 button games)

if you look at the attached file, that was my V1 CP - oh my god!! it was all guess work with a horrible white marble finish!

I have my reverse in the same place. It works fine as long as you haven't trained yourself with a couple decades of Stargate and Defender on the original panels.

One minor quibble though is the fact that you become worthless on a real Defender layout once you train yourself to use the Multiwilliams one.
