Aimtrak problem!!
« on: September 23, 2013, 01:05:30 pm »
Just received an Aimtrak gun. It worked when I plugged it in. I tried to update firmware. (WHY DID I DO THAT?!?) When it started updating the uploader utility popped up. When i tried to "select file" it states no device. now my gun is lost. when i try any option  I get this error:

"in handled exception has occurred in your application. Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

I have tried uninstalling everything. I have also tried "system restore" with no luck.

Any suggestions?

You may have bricked your gun, the manual states that you should NOT update your firmware unless directed to do so. There are a few different hardware versions, if you updated with the wrong firmware it could be bricked.

Hope it works out for you, Im assuming you have to send your gun back to get fixed. Not to rub it in, but I just got a dual kit (from arcadeguns.com)and I'm having a blast :)

I think there is a recovery mode they can be put in, basically unbrickable. Calling AndyWarne!

I am waiting for Andy's help on the situation I tried to plug the gun into my laptop with Windows 7. I ran into the same problem. Windows did not recognize the device. Has anyone ever flashed the gun to it's default settings?

I had ran into something similar but it was a few years back...I had ended up sending the module back to Andy and he sent me a new one.

Hopefully Andy can just run you through a quick fix if not I'm sure he'll take care of ya.

I had to mail it back so Andy could reprogram the gun. So now it's time to wait patiently and learn my lesson :)

Thanks for the help!
