Magstik+ octagonal 8 way mode.
« on: September 22, 2013, 07:54:18 pm »
I really like the magstik's on my multiwilliams cab, but have found that the 8 way mode with a square restrictor can be hard with up/down/left/right directions. Robotron is where the square plate was an issue and I found myself dying from trying to find the straight directions. Since the stiks have been installed in the cab I've never used the 4 way mode for any game. Pulled one out to see if anything could be done to modify that and discovered if you flip the actuator and put the stik to 4 way mode it acts as if it has an octagonal plate. When reattaching the the shaft to the stik I left out the bent "U" shaped piece of metal and put a couple drops lube between the actuator and the small metal plate. Doing this also adds just a little bit more throw to the stik. Fun little mod that doesn't involve altering or coming up with new parts.

good day.
