How to assign ESC key to a button on Jpac?
« on: September 22, 2013, 04:54:44 pm »
It's been awhile since I've messed with my J-pac but I'm trying to add an escape button to my control panel and can't for the life of me figure it out.

I've wired a new button into 1SW7.  This is the "C" button by default but I want it to be escape.  Using the WinIPAC utility, if I click on the ISW7 key it asks me to press a key.  I then press the ESC key on the keyboard.  Now if I press the escape key on the keyboard the key lights up.  but if I press the key on my control button nothing happens.

If I go back into the winipac utility and mouse click on the ISW7 and press on the ISW7 button I have wired up it reverts back to "C" again and when I click on the button it lights up.

So my question is, what am I doing wrong?  I just want to assign 1SW7 as the escape key.

Edit: Nevermind.  I needed to click the Program button. :)

The easiest way is to connect your 1SW7 wire to input 2B instead.

Input 2B default is ESC.

Derp. Forgot you were talking about the J-Pac.
