cp arty question from a newbie
« on: September 18, 2013, 03:36:27 pm »
Hi, I have been trying to find the answer myself but everytime I start reading a thread I end up clicking on a link then suddenly hours have flown and Im all cabbed out planning a bigger better build.  So Id better finish this 1st effort quick, I have made a bartop and have it all set up and running but it is painted matt black with plexi on the cp.
What I would like to do is draw a design something like the weecade art, question is how do you guys get the cp template usable on the pc ?
I have done a 1 player as it's my first attempt but finding it impossible to work out how to mark out button positions ect. I realise I should have done things the other way around but too late now. If anyone has any links to tutes or anything to help me scale stuff in pshop or summat Id be very grateful. Sorry if its a "not again" post or in wrong section.

Did you use a Slagcoin layout?

If you did, put that layout on one layer and your art on another layer.

Make the page the size of your CP, align the layouts to the page, then align your art to the layouts.

Leave some "bleed" (extra printed area that gets trimmed off) around the outside edge in case your measurements are a bit off.

Thanks for quick reply,
But no I had not seen those layouts when I started mine, tbh I read about weecade and jumped in and built one..
From what I remember I printed the one from the weecade tute and just used 1 set of controls  so I don't have a layer as such to use.
From what I have read I may have to scan in my template and vectorise it. :'( Serves me right  :)

Use the original file you printed or print to PDF.  (Not sure what format the plans are in.)

Otherwise, you can scan it and you should be fine.
