ServoStik Toggle Software
« on: September 07, 2013, 12:43:36 am »
I recently upgraded my JLW's to ServoStiks.  They are great and I would recommend them to anyone tired of manually switching your restrictor plates.  I wanted an easy way to toggle the servos directly from my control panel so I wrote a simple .NET windows application that will toggle the servos via the SDK, switch to 4 way, or switch to 8 way thru the use of the keyboard input. There's also buttons on the windows form to toggle via click for testing.  You can set the keyboard inputs you want to anything via the config file.

I find this to be super useful and an easy way to toggle the Servos, as I wanted to get using the Servo's right away.  I eventually plan to figure out Hyperspin to auto-run the commands on game loads, but that seems like it might take a while to configure.

Anyways, It's built in .NET 2.0, and doesn't require install or anything.  I run it on XP and set it to startup minimized and assigned one of my shift keys to it, and viola, easy toggling.

I'm not sure the rules for posting a ZIP or EXE to the forums, so I wanted to check before I do so.  Also, I dont have a place to host it to link to right now, if anyone wants to host it that would be great, let me know.  Just wanted to give back to the community if anyone is interested.

You can put it in a zip or drop it in dropbox like I did with something similar: UltraMap4Mame:  http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,134128.0.html

It would be nice to add a screenshot.

And I guess it should be moved to the software sub forum...

A screenshot would be nice.

Instead of moving this thread, maybe add a link in this thread to a download/support thread in software -- there's a lot less traffic there and some interested people might miss out on this.

Adding support to set the stick correctly based on the game launched from Hyperspin would be a cool feature...

I think this can be done already  :dunno. I'm using mala with DaOldman's plugin for auto switching upon game launch.

good day.

I don't know whether that plugin is generic enough to be used with Hyperspin too?
