Newbie Gutting Cabinet - Help
« on: September 02, 2013, 04:27:18 pm »
Hi all:  I picked up a cab last year, and have decided to gut the entire inside for the following reasons:

1.  CP is small and has too few buttons, and angled too much.
2.  Upgrading to a larger LCD.
3.  Converting it to MAME based

The last person who mounted the LCD and CP did it in a way that wasn't very good and the monitor is too angled along with the CP, so I'll have to adjust accordingly.

I'm just wondering where I can go to get information on the best practices on mounting an LCD and the Contro Panel.  I"m sure there's lots of infor on this forum, but finding it might be a challenge.

Thanks

UFO

I haven't seen any specific guides, but often the best places to look at the "Project Announcement" forums and look through the builds for the info you need.

Unless anyone else knows different  :dunno

A photo of what you're working with would help.

Use stacks of books on a table to find a comfortable height, angle, and distance for the monitor and CP.

Cabarets usually require a wicked angle to the monitor as the monitor is normally way below eye level.
