TMNT Out of the Shadows released on STEAM...anyone try it?
« on: August 30, 2013, 10:23:11 pm »
hey guys, TMNT OOTS was just released for xbox360/ps3/and PC via Steam 2 days ago.  from what i have read, there is a 4 player coop arcade mode that might be awesome on a cabinet...i was just wondering if any of you have tried it yet?  My 4 player cabinet is not ready yet, and I hate to buy the game and not be able to play it.  I was hoping someone here has purchased it and could determine if it would be well suited for play on a cabinet?  $15 seems fairly reasonable if it is.  So, if any of you try it, please let me know.

The reviews are coming in saying it is terrible.
Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.

I hadn't paid much attention to it because it looked like a 3D game that you need analog control for.

The arcade mode looks like it might work, but according to these guys, you have to beat the regular game to unlock all the maps in arcade mode.

I've been looking for Steam games that work on the cab and I'm frustrated by the number of buttons required for what should be simple games.  It's almost as if the developers feel obligated to use 8 buttons, so they make up things or use multiple buttons where one would have worked fine.

I'm rebuilding my control panel with 8 buttons for this very reason.

Although, hooking up a Logitech gamepad is a lot easier.  :)

They feel obligated to use all the buttons because of the console releases. It can also make keyboard and mouse control of some of the newer shooters ridiculously hard to set up as well.

I picked it up in Turtle-time-excitement but to be honest the games isn't great, the best thing about is the movie theme tune they use on the main menu

Can you confirm there is a 4 player, offline co-op arcade mode..and if it would be playable on a cabinet with a keyboard encoder? How many buttons are required per player? Even if it is just an average game. My kids are crazy about tmnt. If it is playable on my cabinet, I want it. Thanks
