Hello hammyysu,

You do not list in your profile what country you live in, this is a world wide forum and as such it helps if we know where to direct you for spares or more local advice.

If you were in Europe I would say for you to contact us in the UK.

Are you saying that the 8 volt led on the power supply is not lit?

First thing to do is check for a blown fuse in the power supply.  I am not familiar with the R 93 power supplies; but I'm thinking that the fuses are on the top side of the power supply's circuit board. At least that's the way it is in the cd100s.  You will have to undo the screws holding the power supply's circuit board in place and lift it out.

Good luck

Resistors are cheap. Radio shack carries them. Ebay is also cheap. Change it out and give it a try.  I assume that since it broke you can no longer see the color bands to determine the resistance level. Hopefully you have the service manual for it so you can identify the correct type of resistor. If not, take  a pic of the board and post it.

Funny with electronics. It always seems that the circuit board blows in order to protect the fuse. Try changing the resistor. if it blows again, you may need to check for a short in one of the transistors.

What is the position on the board?  It should have an R value (R7, R8, etc)

Hello hammyysu,

That resistor sounds as if it is R508 and it is 0.82 ohms 2 watts wire wound.

If that is blowing then you have a major fault on the 8 volt dc  supply, Q505 more than likely needs replacing but the fault could have orginated  in the earlier parts of the circuit sucj as the two zenor diodes or Q502 or Q503.

what he basicly said to without getting to long winded
is that value resister make's if fusable resister, and that some thing in that 8v line is loading to the extent, that it is burning it them up..as there is more then 1 of them
and he pointed to the requlator circuit, which is very very common fault area
and easy to fix if understand.? u are dealing with a down side load
ie after a main fuse and main diode...

Hello hammyysu,

I would think that you may be lucky that the power supply has not effected the CCC.

Looking at some of your pictures of the jukebox I wondered why the gripper bow (put the records onto the turntable) is in the position it is in and why the tone arm is not engaged with the tone arm cam as it should be.

Was this a picture after you picked up the jukebox and the mechanism was fully tied down for transportation
or am I mixing your story with another post?

r-93 i do not  have a manual for
but what u need to do is chk the down-stream of the first .82 2w resister
so where that line goes chk for a dead short  ie: that line to ground
basic trouble shooting stuff
from there i bet u find a req trans gone and or diodes :zener:
again basic without a manual, just a tad more time

Hello hammyysu,

I think it is time you sent your parts to Bruce Wentworth of AB Leisure for testing/repair.

If the replacement power supply blew the same resistor this would indicate to me that you have a short of some kind on the 8 volt wiring, it could be the service switch,  the mechanism control unit or CCC.

You should have tested the power supply before you put it in the jukebox, to make sure it was ok by measuring the power rails for 28 volts AC, 28 volts DC & 8 volts DC and putting a small load onto these power rails I use a 12 volt lamps very low wattage, a single lamp across the 8v and two in series across the 28v rails.

for the record and what u are doing
u can slap in a 1watt 1ohm resister
it just needs to be cermaic style
all it is doing is  acting like is a fuse
i be it a slow 1 but that is basicly why it is there
to portect your power trans
from the exact same down stream porblem u are haveing
