Gold leaf push button wiring

Quick question.  I bought Gold Leaf Push Buttons for my arcade.  They have no markings for normal open and ground.  I have read that it doesnt matter how it is wired as long as all buttons are wired the same.  Is this true?  Thanks in advance for any info.

On any two terminal button, it doesn't matter which terminal you connect to ground and which you connect to the encoder.

When you press the button, the switch closes and is electrically the same as a piece of wire.

I can verify that, I don't even know if I used the same sided terminal on each plug, just slap it in and it's good to go.

With that being said, I actually don't like the gold leaf buttons I got.

I accidentally ordered the gold leaf ones instead of cherry switch ones, which was how all my old buttons were. So the wiring harness I had available was specific to the old buttons I had. The crimps still fit on and they had these little "nubs" that'd make sure the crimps latches on to the switch tabs, but they are much smaller and they just feel looser. That's my own fault for not paying attention, but I didn't say it was rational.

Besides that, the buttons feel the same to me and I honestly have no issues with having springs in my buttons or a little click-y-ness.
