Game List not refreshing

Hello-

I am hoping someone could help with a problem I just encountered in Mala. When I go to "Refresh main game list" in Mala it starts all the typical stages of the update but hen it gets to the end it restarts the "Collecting games" a second time. During that process  Mala becomes unresponsive. I am not for sure why this is happening. I tried creating a new Mame.ini and Mame.xml with no luck. Any suggestions?

I am thinking the problem is my additional info in Mala. Would controls.ini confuse the updating process?

New question, could Controls.ini or Catver.ini hang up Mala 1.71 from refreshing main game list? I'm feeling like maybe I should upgrade Mala.

Everyone can get some rest I have it working! Of course now I am playing around with an updated version of Mala.

So if I want to keep all my settings in Mala 171 but update to 174 I just copy my the 174 exe into my Mala 171 folder?
