Input Problems With MAME
« on: November 16, 2003, 05:14:31 pm »
I'm having some input problems when using MAME with my x-joy converter (x-box>PC converter)
the controls take varying ammounts of time to respond. The d-pad takes the longest whereas the A,B/X,Y are a bit quiker. the d-pad can take 6-7+ seconds to respond (if you push left then release it there will be no movement at any time whereas if you push and hold it then release it when there is movement you will stop when you release it.

THIS IS A MAME SPACFIC PROBLEM. the control works fine with other emu's and in the test program.

i have deleted ALL mame roms/exe's, everything and even reverted to an older version.

other pads work fine, connections are good and hardware seems to be OK.

If anyone can help OR has had similar problems they wouls be great,

note: i turned on error log and this is a few lines of the tens of thousends i got. dunno what any of it means as far as my problems go.

Hi,
I have science solved (some) of this problem by disableing the RDSC timing system. But now the timing is way out.
This has not solved all of the problems with the input but it has screwed the timing of cause.

the error log not reads,

cpu #0 (PC=00000009): unmapped memory byte write to 00005071 = 00
cpu #0 (PC=00000009): unmapped memory byte write to 00005072 = 00
cpu #0 (PC=00000009): unmapped memory byte write to 00005073 = 00
cpu #0 (PC=00000009): unmapped memory byte write to 00005074 = 00
cpu #0 (PC=00000009): unmapped memory byte write to 00005075 = 00

etc.

more help (with the problem not my spelling) would be great,
