Trimming Happ 27" Bezel
« on: November 16, 2003, 11:26:03 am »
Hig guys,

Goto trim the edges of my new bezel so it fits my cab.  What should I use to cut it? should I get a fine jigsaw blade.  Should I use the dremel? Or should I use and exacto knife.

Has anyone done this before and, could you tell me what you used to trim your bezel.  What would your reccomended approach be

Excuse my speeling :)

I used a battery operated Ryobi circular saw with a fine blade and it came out perfect with no flaws~!

I used a razorblade and a straight edge.  It worked well.

I used a Dremel with a cutting bit, worked pretty well.  (Incidentally, this works wonders on thin, cheap Plexiglas as well)

I used a utility knife with a straight edge and it worked perfect.

I ran the knife across three times with a little pressure and it cut through real clean.

Yes, a razor knife and straight edge works very well for trimming these.  You don't even need to cut all the way through the bezel; just a single good pass with a sharp razor will score it, then it will snap right off.  If you make multiple passes, you might wander with the blade and then it becomes messy.  Make your first cut right on the money, then a simple bend & snap will leave a nice, clean edge.

Hi there new member but have been following the site and scene for a while  :)

My setup will be a capcom dynamo cab and i just bought a 27 inch jvc tv that i can measure , it will just fit into the cab.

Im looking towards getting the happs 27in bezel, but will it fit in my cab?
Because im going with a tv setup and not an arcade monitor.

Also is it always plexi that holds up the marquee? or will tempered glass work?

I used a happ 27" bezel with a  27" sharp tv.  It fit just fine.

I think either plexi or tempered glass would work.  I used very thin lexan for the front and a piece of white posterboard for the back.
