Aimtrack MODEL2 Issues
« on: August 12, 2013, 07:42:36 am »
Hello,
I'm stuck with some problems with my aimtrack light gun

I've installed and calibrate it it with the help of the included software, and set it as a mouse as It was explained in the notice.
I've tested it with a gun game in mame, and everything is okay
Now I've tried to test it in M2 emu to try the virtua cop games but:
I cannot get the reload thing working (shoot outside the screen), in the included software, it detects a shooting outside as a 'button 4', which i try to set up in game, but it does not works
- I try the troubleShooter2 program without any success neither (proper install, M2 configuration)
and I noticed something strange : in the virtua cop calibration of the gun, it detects the trigger as P1 trigger, but the aim is obviously the aim of the P2 ?!!
is my mouse set as Player one?
I almost tried all sort of configs( use lightgun as joystick or mouse) and I cannot get it works ..  :(

A little help is welcome :)

In the Aimtrak Utility, do you have offscreen for the trigger set to right mouse click? Make sure you are on the correct device by going to the sensor view tab.

So I use the trigger as button 1, and now set the offscreen as mouse Right Click..
I saw the sensor IR as device N1, but nothing changes, cannot reload in Virtua cop (1 or 2) on Model2 emu.

But the most weird thing is that I see that I move the aim of the player 2, while the aim of the player 1 is not moving and firing in the lower right corner all the time..
(even if i shot outside with my device, there is a bullet impact in the lower right corner) In fact my gun moves the aim of P2, and fire for P1 ??
i guess that the main problem is here : the aimtrack gun is set as the P2 gun, although its device on the utility is device 1

In the ini of model2 i got
UseRawInput=1  //enable use of 2 mouse  (original mouse & lightgun as mouse
RawDevP1=1
RawDevP2=0

(originally the 2 rawdevP1 & P2 were set to 4??? i still have the aim of P2 with the gun)
even with RawDevP1 set to 0 1 or 4, the aim is the one of the P2 (the blue one)

It's really weird,
My aimtrack works well on mame,
But in the Model2, i cannot even get it to fire where i want to, it's as if it never detect that i'm moving p1 gun aim..
All of the searches that I made about model2 and aimtrack are reloading offscreen problems, not a single post about the gun detected as P2 gun?

If your using troubleshooter then you shouldn't need to alter anything in model 2. you need to try different Device #'s on page 2 of the settings in troubleshooter and use a fresh install of model 2 so you know they are the default settings (Howard recommended this), bear in mind that you may need to create some of the folders manually in model 2 if troubleshooter complains about path not being found, 'Cfg' folder is one I believe.

You shouldn't be using rawinput.
With it turned off, any mouse connected (including the aim-trak) will control the crosshairs.
Left click is fire, right click is reload.  Setup the aim-trak utility accordingly.

Get it working like that before moving onto Troubleshooter or you'll just be creating more possibilities for incorrect settings.

You need rawinput it you want more than one gun but I agree with badmouth, get the one gun working correctly before you try and get 2 working.

He only mentioned one gun, so I assumed he only has one.  :P

(This is still coggia, i'm onto another computer and I see now that I've another registered account remebered on this computer)

Thanks for the replies,

So yes I've got just one lightgun and I use troubleshooter because i've seen there are reloading issues with theM2 emulator that can be corrected with troubleshooter, and this is troubleshooter that configured the ini this way.
But my problem is still the same even my rawinputdevice set to 0
:'(
