FS/Trade near Indy: Miscellaneous controls/parts...
« on: August 10, 2013, 06:02:33 pm »
UPDATES:
- Galaxian shell is sold
- Red tent Nintendo Vs. Cocktails sold
- Coin Door - STILL AVAILABLE  (details below)
- 36" SVGA presentation monitor - STILL AVAILABLE (details below)
- I also have some additional parts that I'm finding including 49-ways and GPWiz 49, Happs perfect 360 controllers,  assorted buttons, hacked Dreamcast controllers, etc, etc..  Need to figure out prices and shipping...  Keep checking back..  :)

I'd also be interested in a trade, possibly.  I've got my 'final' project, an old cocktail that I want to fix up.  Would be interested in quality, low-profile controllers (x2) and buttons (x4 or 6)..

As much as it saddens me to admit, I just don't have time for the projects I've had lying around forever.  I'm cutting back to my one unfinished project (classic cocktail) and selling off the rest.  I'm trying to clear out room so we can finish our basement..  So...

I guess I should first mention that I'm in Fishers, IN.  Just NE of Indy.  :)

Galaxian upright shell - This was in pretty bad shape when I got it.  I stripped what was left of the vinyl  :'( and gave it a coat of white base.  Stripped the peeling paint from the metal pieces.  All of the important pieces are there..  Frame, control panel, monitor brackets (and original monitor), glass, coin door, speaker grill, and marquee brackets.  I don't have the original marquee, unfortunately...

See attached pics.

Asking $100 OBO.  Pick up only, unfortunately..  I don't really have a way to transport or ship them..  *sigh*

Let me know if you have questions or want to see additional pics...

SOLD.  See below for additional items for sale!

Nintendo Vs. Cocktails - I've got one MOSTLY working, and another for parts.  The body on one is better than the body on the other.  2 monitors - 1 in need of a cap kit or something.  Super Mario Bros chips and Baseball chips.  (SMB installed).  The monitor that you see not working is, as far as I can tell, just the monitor.  If I switch the cables, the 2nd side game runs on the first side.  You can see the legs of the one in one of the pictures.  Controls work (though a bit sticky).

Asking $150 OBO (for the pair).

Again, pickup only.  And again, let me know if you have questions or want more pics  :)

SOLD.

Man, if I wasn't +500 mi away.  :badmood:
I've been dying to get my hands on a red tent, and that coin door would be perfect for my centipede cabaret resto.  :banghead:

If nobody else takes you up on that coin door please consider shipping it. If you can get me an approx weight for shipping I can see about sending an e-label via UPS plus that $30.

Good luck on the sale, someone is going to get some killer parts for dirt cheap IMO.

Future Projects: Galaxian Anniversary, Mario VS DK, Rebirth

I'll check the monitor details this afternoon.  I will note that it supposedly worked YEARS ago when I bought it.  But I never plugged it in or anything, so I have no idea for sure  :(  I never intended to use the original monitor, even though the screen cover (I forget what it's called) is a perfect fit for it...

I was asked for more pics of the red tents (Vs. cocktails)...  My plan for these was to use the one that wasn't in as nice of shape to get the games working while fixing up the nicer cabinet.  This is the one that I consider 'not in as nice of shape'..  In the first pic, you can see that some 'body work' has been done to the top.  This is the only thing 'wrong' with it.  As you can see, all of the buttons and controls are there.  They need to be cleaned a bit (a bit sticky sometimes), but they function.  The only thing 'missing' from this cabinet is whatever is missing from the bottom front.  Neither cabinet has this piece.  I'm guessing just a grill or something to enclose the inside of the cabinet.

Edit:  Also missing coin mechs.

I consider this the nicer cab.  I think the only thing that really needs done with it is to fix the one side so the doors sit flush (you can see in the pic).  Again, all controls are there.  This one's empty inside, and I've removed the legs.  As I said, it was going to be the one I cleaned up to move the game into.

Finally, here's a pic of extra monitor.  So, that's 2 Vs. cocktails, but only 3 monitors.  I've also got the chips for Baseball.  SMB is more fun, though, IMO  :)

With only 3 monitors, I had planned on eventually turning the other cab into a 4-player MAME cab with 2 VGA monitors..  Ambitious given the amount of time I've been able to spend on it.  *sigh*

Anyway, please ask questions.  I think it's a good deal regardless of any minor condition issues.  I want to make sure anyone interested is completely comfortable with the purchase and knows what they're getting.  :)

Are you missing all the coin mechs and how noticeable is the burn when the screens are on

No coin mechs.  They weren't there when I got the cabs, either.  I was planning on just rigging up a switch like I did in my MAME cab or getting some hacked mechs that are sold on the forums to take my tokens.

Screen burn is in the eye of the beholder, but to me it doesn't seem very visible when the screen is on.

Just a friendly bump...  I still have:

1) Coin Door
2) SVGA Presentation Monitor
3) 2 Nintendo Vs (red tent) cocktails

I've now got my cocktail project in my office, and hope to make more progress on it.  I may be posting more parts and pieces (shippable??) once I see what I have and what I need.  Aside from a potential virtual pinball someday, the cocktail might be my last BYOAC project for a while..  :(

It's actually a Gateway DL36.

Also, sorry about not getting the other parts info.  Basement is being finished and things are a bit hectic right now..  My office is piled up with stuff that I hope to sort through and get pictures of and prices on...
