Philips CD PRO Player question
« on: August 01, 2013, 11:23:08 pm »
Hello

Is there anyone familiar with the Phillips CD PRO player electronics?  Here is my question.  On the top side of the player's circuit board there is an adjustable POT. Does anyone know what it does?  I have a player and it is not working correctly.  I changed the motor and the laser but still no luck. I am wondering if someone tinkered with the POT. Maybe something is out of adjustment.

Thanks.

I believe that trimpot sets the voltage level to the laser LED. As the laser LED ages and it gets dim you crank up the voltage to compensate.
