Hand Candy balltops from GGG just arrived. pics
« on: July 25, 2013, 10:28:44 pm »
hey guys, just getting ready to build a new 4 player pedestal cabinet (project announcement coming soon) with a TMNT theme.  i already had the happ buttons, and 2 Sanwa JLW joysticks.  I had previously purchased Sanwa balltops from lizardlick a few years ago, but the colors did not match very well with the happ buttons. (orange and red were good, blue and purple were not)  so this time i bought some Hand Candy balltops from groovygamegear.  they arrived today and i snapped a few pics, because i couldn't find anyone who had pics of them in relation to happ buttons.

first of all, the balltops are really nice, smooth, no seams very high quality.

they are slightly larger in diameter than the standard sanwa balltops, not alot, but a little.

as for the colors, they look pretty good next to the happ buttons, but still are not the same color. the red is a little lighter than the happ buttons and also lighter than the sanwa red.  the blue is much closer to happ blue than either of the sanwa blue balls. :)  the orange is a little darker than the sanwa, which is darker than the happ orange.  the purple is much darker than sanwa purple (which is almost pink) but still lighter than the happ purple.

here are a few pics for comparison.

hard candy balls next to happ buttons (and black sanwa ball)

hard candy balls in front, sanwa balls in back. (w flash)

same shot, without flash

you will see more of these in my project announcement thread when i make it here in a week or so...i just figured there might be others out there who were wondering what these looked like in comparison to the happ buttons.

i haven't had a change to actually play with my balls yet, but they feel really nice, and I am very pleased with them. :lol
