I have been learning how to use sketchup over the past few days so I can design a cabinet for my build.
I am liking the design of the neo geo MVS-1-25, MVS-2-25, or MVS-4-25 (ver. 1). All of which look to have the same cabinet. The only plans I can find are for the MVS-4-25 version 3, which I do not like because of the coin door in the way of your feet.
My idea is to use the jakobud neogeo plans since it is something simple for my first ever wood working project, and modify it to meet my needs. I want to make it more of a slim design, while still having enough depth to take some gameplay abuse with no worries. I will be using a 27" lcd. Any idea of an optimal depth? I still want to retain the rear curve. Any ideas of something neat to do to make a rear door? 2 simple rear doors? Obviously the cab will not have the coin door protrusion.
Width will have to be expanded. My monitor is about 25.25 inches wide. I also want to fit a trackball in there as well. Trackball adds about 5". Control panel would then be 28.75 inches.
I'm just browsing for some ideas or suggestions. Maybe some people that have a real neogeo mvs can tell me what they like and dislike about the cab.
