Trackball-Left and Rights
« on: July 24, 2013, 10:06:04 am »
Hello-

It appears I mounted my trackball in my control panel in a way that either my up is down. If I rotate the trackball my next best solution is my lefts are rights.......whew. I thought when I installed the trackball into my min-pac I would program these settings in Winpac. Nope, it is what it is.

What would be the settings in Mame (tab-config) to change, let's say, left to right and my right to left.

Any help/advice is greatly appreciated!

Robbie

If you don't care that it works backward in Windows or your FE, you can go into "Analog Controls" and change "Track X Reverse".

If you want it to work right everywhere, you should swap the two data wires on the mixed-up axis -- not sure if it will be the yellow/green or blue/purple pair for your setup since you mentioned non-standard mounting configuration.

It might be easiest to swap the pair at the connector to the Mini-Pac by carefully lifting the plastic tab that holds each pin.

I thought about changing the data wires but with my luck I will mess something else up!!! It won't bother me to have it alittle wacky under windows.

I tried changing some of the settings in mame but it never ended up working. Would it be easier to change up for down or left to right? So it's the analog control only? Will this effect gameplay at all?

Thanks!

The only thing you might mess up swapping the data wires is the plastic tabs holding the pins.

Just be sure you have the right two wires.
