Anybody with a Midway cabinet that can help?
« on: July 19, 2013, 07:07:06 am »
Hi everybody

I'm almost certain my cabinet is missing a piece. A piece that hold the monitor glass at the bottom. Take a look at the pictures. The cabinet is a killer instinct

Can anybody with a similar cabinet comment and post pictures for me to see what I'm missing?

Thanks!

Malenko

you are not missing a piece there, the part that holds the glass in at the bottom is part of the control panel. Pretty sure you asked about this before, answer is the same. I can take pix of both my KI and my MKII when I get home if the picture below doesnt suffice:

Thanks for the reply ... Yes I was concerebed about how to secure the glass before, but i realized i difnt know how it should sit. So the glass should sit on the metal strip that is attaced to the control panel? Hence you cannot open control panel unless you take glass out?

Any other close up pictures would be appreciated!

Thanks!

No, the other way. The glass sits on the wood, then the control panel closes holding the glass in place.

Would you be able to show me a picture of that piece of wood it sits on? I think I'm missing it.

Thank you!

Anybody with a similar Midway cabinet? Can you post a picture of how the glass is resting on the cabiner with the CP open.

Thank you!

completely forgot about this, sorry.  Ok so theres 2 pieces of metal, one that screws into the shelf under the glass and hold the glass down. A second piece of metal is sort of S shaped that screws into the bottom of the control panel, and the top of the S lays flush against the metal under the glass.

Thank you very much!! This helps a lot! It appears that I'm missing the metal piece that screws into the shelf  now I'm on the hunt to find one

Thanks again

you can get aluminum Ls at home depot and paint it black till you find one. As long as you have the "S" piece on the CP, it should hold the glass in place.
