Name that game: Bonus round
« on: July 18, 2013, 01:40:27 pm »
Ok, since we are on a streak of "name that game", I got one I that needs some identifying.

I was drunk off ---my bottom--- one night several years ago, and playing some random games on my cab. We were playing a game that was a side scrolller, but so much about the game is foggy at best. It was two player and I remember in the beginning you are scuba diving en route to a secret underwater base, probably chucking harpoons. Then you get to the base and it is kill bad guys and such. I can't remember if you shot them or punched them, but since I think it was sort of a spy game, I am guessing it was shooting.

Everything else is a drunk and sloggy blur, but I remember laughing ---my bottom--- off about the game. It was probably the booze distorting reality, but I remember the way they animated the sprites seemed pretty hilarious, but for the life of me, I don't remember why. I'd like to take a look at the game while sober.

I keep waiting for someone to just make up the most absurd things they can think of.
.....and then someone find a game that actually matches.

I'm still working on yours Vigo.  But BadMouth is speaking of Snacks 'n' Jackson.  That one was easy.

I think the game I play was reminiscent of sly spy. Not as polished, but the underwater levels were similiar in my mind. I *think* the graphics were more along the lines of Rolling Thunder. Like we were wearing red and blue jumpsuits.

It was a 2 player simultaneous, that part I am sure about. I remember making the comment that were totally the most badass super spy duo in existence. And my friend said we were Gary and Ace, Super spy scuba divers. (It was totally funny when drunk....really).

Thunderjaws

not Atari's finest if you ask me, but unlikely to be anything else ;-)

Everyone knows it's Snacks 'n Jaxson.  :P
I wasn't actually asking, but trying to spur some fake "name that game" threads with equally absurd premises.

The video game equivalent of this:

That is it! Thunderjaws.  Thanks, Haze! Now I'm gonna have to go play the game and see if it is as funny as "drunk me" thought.

I can't believe Atari made this 4 years after Rolling Thunder. Other than 2 players, I don't remember it being an improvement.

I've never seen this video before!  Thats so wild!  The only reason I say that is because I got this tattoo about five years ago.

Sounds like Metal slug (whatever) at the end of the submarine level.
If I had only one wish, it would be for three more wishes.

Found this Vigo.  Just in case you are feeling nostalgic.   ;D

Look at the third picture from the left for the listing.  Look closely.  Hope something looks familiar.
