nos joystick
« on: July 16, 2013, 11:40:59 am »
I just got some NOS joysticks in.  At first when I ordered them, they had kind of looked like some old Happ supers from the pics.  I figured hey why not try them out, to me old Happ parts are better.
Well I just got them in & they are not Happs.  ??? :o
I have never heard of these, CA calle joysticks?
The spring seems really stiff/hard which is my preference.  The joy shaft is really heavy too, has some weight to it.  ;D :D
Has anybody heard of these or used/played on them before?

part #

the only thing I could find on these was some places in Mexico selling old stock of them for stupid $$$, yea right.  umm I will buy 10 of them at that price  :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2: ;D

The body and switches look exactly like an x-arcade stick.

The shaft is different.  The x-arcade one is the same diameter all the way up and relies on the shaft cover to hold it up whereas this one steps in diameter.
The handle looks to be the same shape though.

I have one laying around.  I'll look for any markings when I get home.

EDIT: The switches on the x-arcade are two-tone like the ones in this pic on the page you linked to.

IIRC, the actuator looks different.

They are not Xrcade ones, I can tell you that.  The links where for reference.  The pics are what I received.  Yes, the actuator and other parts are different. The shaft is way heavier than Xrcades also.  The base is a little bit bigger also & it is hard to tell from this pic but the shaft hole is little bit bigger also.  I just placed it against the Xarcade base I have here.  The micros on the calle's are Zippys all black, the Xarcade are two tone.  The bottom of the base also has different markings.  The brand of these are CA calle.  I just have never heard of them before. I was wanting to know if people had heard of them or played on them.  The 2nd pic & diagram pics in my OP was the only pics I had to go on when buying these.  They did not come in that box but you can see from 2nd link, that part # is on the box. It is also on the diagram that I got with them.   So far it is still a brand I have never heard of.

Left one is the Xarcade, right one is CA calle's.

I have import sticks referred to as "Spanish" joysticks.  They are pretty much identical, aside from the switches used, and the name on the base.  They are loosely based on IL and HAPP sticks of similar design, but use a very heavy and thick shaft.  Seriously, don't drop one on a toe.

How many can I interest you in  :D

Yea I knew I would be taking a chance since the seller on ebay only had the bag contents & the diagram pic up. It did look like from that pic a happ super.  I never asked him because I was like, check it out see what it is.  Knowing it might end up being BUTT.  You already know each joystick plays different, so it was a gamble & I lost.  The price I could not pass up, not to take a chance. Plus side is I now have some xtra micro's & xtra shafts.  ;D  ::)   :D

But for you Randy, I will take 150 of them  :o ;D
