Can you identify this joystick??
« on: November 13, 2003, 02:48:31 pm »
Hi folks,

Just nabbed a new-in-box happs tulip-style top fire joystick off ebay for 10.50 (!!), and the woman lived in my town so we met to finish the sale. She handed me a second joystick and told me that if I had a use for it, I could have it. Want to figure out what kind of stick this is and what it may have come from.

Here are two pics. One:

It looks a little like the Monroe joysticks that were used in Gyruss. However I think the Gyruss joysticks had a shorter shaft.

I really don't know, but it uses leaf-switches and I expect was used in a metal control panel - so the shaft is not that short...

That is a Monroe, and I have been looking for one just like that for a long time. I will trade any other joystick out of my parts box for it (including a wico). Or will trade a pair of non-Wico sticks.

Just found a good pic of a gyruss CP top and underside. Yup, that's the one. The one I have is clearly new old stock. It doesn't have a mark on any of the mechanics...
