Q*bert knocker question
« on: June 19, 2013, 09:51:28 am »
Hello, read a lot of threads about the Q*bert knocker.  So maybe there is a pinball person out there that knows of a coil that activates on 12V vs 27V.  I am actually trying to run a real Q*bert with an upgraded power supply that only puts out 12V to the knocker.  It's soft, but still activates on 12V.

Any easy solutions?

Thanks,
-SP

Find a small 24v power supply which puts out enough current for the knocker, run the 12v to the coil of a 12v relay, and the 24v going to the knocker can be controlled with it.  I indicated 24v, as these would be easier to find than 27v, and still get you close enough for a convincing "thwack".

Thanks!  Would it be possible to get a little diagram for the electronically challenged gamer?

Thanks,

Most simple:  switch the coil out for: A-5194
This should give it the same oomph as normal but at 12v
