I tried several different ps2/usb adapters, the little green ones, but none of them got a response from windows. I'm running windows 7 on my laptop.
I now bought another ipac2 that came with the passive black usb-ps2 cable, just for the cable.
My computer finally recognized a connection from the IPACfour (PC port) to my Laptop USB port. However, it tries to install the driver and fails and says the usb device is unknown.
I'm still very stumped....
I'm wondering if it's because I inherited an old IPACfour without the LED lights that some are describing. I don't see any LED. And I played with the jumper setting from USB to PS2, and with the BIOS Legacy USB support disable/enable.
My next step is getting a docking station for my laptop that has a PS2 port so I can skip using the USB method. The IPAC4 otherwise works on my older P4 tower via ps2 port. I'm hoping the docking station method for my laptop ps2 connection will be resolute.
