Blitz 99 I-40 problem? *solved*
« on: June 16, 2013, 11:02:20 pm »
So I had a 2 player CP and it functioned fine, picked up a 4 player, swapped it out hooked it all up according to a showtime / blitz combo guide, honestly I was unable to find any other way to wire it but the symptoms are all sticks are "dead" some buttons work on the left two players and in once you are in game / selecting teams the direction is down and to the right.

Im not really sure how to troubleshoot this so I would appreciate the assistance.

Did you change the DIP switches on the board for 4-player mode?

I just did that, I now have all button functionality, nothing with the sticks however.

*edit* im wondering if the input and output pinouts are wrong. Based off the 2k / showtime schematic the input from the main harness my colors are not the same and at quick glance last night the pinout was diffrent as well, the key was on 5 where on the schematic shows it on 7. Not sure the output is correct either although my pinout and the schematic do match but im not confident its correct.

I have another I-40 I could try but I would like to make sure I have the pinouts correct first.

Spaced I had taken some pics last night, this is the input from the main harness

and here is what the schematic says it should be, now I suppose there could be another 7pin hanging out unused but I didnt see one.

Apparently this is a odd issue but I have found a reasonably priced blitz 99 man on ebay and purchased it. Hopefully that will help get the wiring correct for those two pinouts and then if necessary swap out to my other I-40 and see if that one works.

So after getting an actual Blitz 99 manual and going through it apparently the connector with the orange and red wire is the power and such for the bill collector, so I like a tard hooked it up to the I-40.... On the plus side of things I have found out that the pins in question run from a AUX spot on the Blitz board to the I-40 board's 9P1 spot. Obviously I dont have it so Ill build it, I have an extra 7 pin connector and a 12 pin I can use so Ill have to tinker with it this weekend and see.
