Konami arcade problem

On a Konami 12-1 stand up arcade game,when it is turned on the screen says signal cable disconnect".What does that mean and is it a simple fix

Did you first open it up just to make sure a cable didn't get disconnected?

I am getting ready to get this from a guy and he said that is what it says on the screen

Yep,
 It may just be the cable from the board to the monitor is disconnected.
The other possibility is that the monitor is powering up but not the game board.
  Check to make sure everything is plugged in.

Could also mean the game board isnt even in there anymore.

True.
Those games are nothing more than a PC monitor and a little cartridge thing.
That cart could be bad or missing.
Only one way to find out though
