U-HID G: Opinions?
« on: June 08, 2013, 04:17:06 am »
How good is the U-HID G for pinball nudge functions? Is it responsive? Reliable? Any alternatives?

Using the 3 axes for nudge operations, it leaves 5 connections for 2 left, 2 right flippers and a plunger button, which is enough for pinball control. Does it support the "shift" function as the original U-HID does?

I plan to use it to built a Pinball controller...

See the link in my sig for my pin controller and U-HID-G settings.

It works ok for a digital nudge, but I never revisited to see if it can do analog nudging.

For analog nudging, Noah over on VPForums.org just recently released VirtuaPin™ Digital Plunger Kit.

It's his answer to the older Nanotech Mot-Ion kit that has some calibration, stability and heat-sensitivity issues.

Early reviews on the VirtuaPin Plunger Kit appear to be promising, but the sample size is still too small to be sure -- keep an eye on Noah's announcement thread to see how things shake out.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, but if you want to avoid messing with accelerometers, KADE has a Pinball map that works great.
