Cabinet Plan thoughts?
« on: November 12, 2003, 03:00:43 pm »
I have been thinking about using the Ultimate Arcade II plans and was wondering if anyone has used them?  Are they worth it, do they really have the detail you would want when spending 30.00 on a set of plans?  Even if I did get them, I'm sure I would tweak them and modify them some so that I don't have the same old cabinet as anyone else using the plans.

I really want something with more lines than the standard cabinet and the 2-piece design will make it easier to get out of my basement or into another house.

I'm currently using them...if you have any woodworking skills at all and can follow diagrams they are pretty easy to follow...its not really a two piece design, you build the bottom piece, and the attach the top pieces to it. Its not a build the bottom piece, build the top piece, put them together type deal, although i suppose you could do that, but it'll be pretty hard to get that top piece attached. Anyways, were they worth the 30 buks when there are plenty of free ones out there? probably not, but i bought them anyways and I'm happy with the way the cabinet is turning out...here's a shot of it almost done

I build mine without the plan.My panel isnt exaclty like UA 2 panel but close.
However,I took a look at the plan myself and its worth the money.
You are spending a lot on the cabinet so get the plan(make life easier).

STL_Steve. There are quite a lot of Mamers and arcade heads in St.Louis. You could probably just go over to someone's house and measure one of their games and save yourself some cash.

Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.
