I have 2x256MB 333MHz and 2x1GB 533MHz DDR2 if those are of any interest to you.

2GB 800MHz is pretty high end DDR2.  I don't have any pulls of that.

only what is posted it is for a high end pc build for it's time.

also this setup only runs on 800mhz for the ram.

I got a good deal on a older set but an upgrade from my current and going from a x1950 pro agp 512mb ddr3 to a X2 sli GTX 260 896MB ddr3 pci-e

also from a athlon 4000+ to a X2 4600+

also from DDR 4000 pc3200 4gb to the 8gb ddr2 800mhz

not a huge leap by today's specs but for the cost it makes sense for the upgrade becuase the x1950 pro I have is still worth a good chunk of change on ebay beings it is and was the baddest agp made when it comes to raw power.

Ah, you got stuck with some of the highest end stuff on interfaces that have been left behind.  That's a sucky place to be since you've got hardware that's still quite usable but difficult to find minor upgrades for.  Best of luck to you.

not sure what you mean.

I got the MSI mobo with 1gb ram and a x2 4600 athlon with nividia sli 500 chip for $25.00 shipped and the first gtx 260 216 superclock for $30.00 shipped.

I can sell my agp sapphire with zalman cooler for over $75.00 on ebay and I have 4 1gb sticks of pc3200 drr400 ram to sell now a athlon 64 4000+ with arctic cooler 64 heatsink and the motherboard.

the corsair tx 750 is staying and so is the case,

after swapping them out for what I am doing now I will actually have money in my pocket instead of spending and have a system 2x-3x more powerfull for the same or less in what I can sell of my current goodies for.

not looking to spend 2k on something that is worth hundreds 3 years later I am smart pc builder and dont think stupid spenidng on top of the line pc stuff is cool at all and a total waste of money and super geek ego.

why spend thousands now for something that does not have software to push it to the max 4 years down the road when it is worth hundreds.

that math is just not there to try to keep current with pc stuff,

like $300+ dollar card pff for what couple games for the next two years and then it is worth 50 too by then.

my current setup runs 90% of everything out there and to build another that will swamp it for close to nothing or completely free sounds good to me still.

should be a even swap out for the ram video card etc, for what I have and what I got these for I Would be silly not too

Right, I'm saying that you're in a somewhat unfortunate position of having reasonably high end key components using interfaces that the industry has generally declared obsolete, which means finding minor upgrades like RAM can be challenging.  It's not a problem, just not a fun position to find oneself in, but if you work things right, it's a decent way to end up with a surprisingly decent PC on the cheap - people throw stuff away for these reasons, so you can get things cheapish that way, but getting anything new generally will carry a price premium compared to the new, mass-market tech.

I wasn't trying to be sarcastic - really, best of luck finding what you need.  I just don't happen to have it.

  • I want to build my own arcade controls!
I think what MonMotha is trying to say is the 2GB DDR2 modules are a bit like the AGP video card that you have now -- (ie. limited in availability and expensive for what you get) just like the x1950 pro video card selling for $75 or so even though it is an outdated card on a dead end interface, it holds it's value because many people are still using MOBO's that only have an AGP interface and those that have the high end card tend to hold onto it. Same goes for the 2GB DDR2 modules (those that have them are still using them so few are for sale unless you pay a premium that almost makes it better to switch the MOBO and CPU since for the same $100 - $150 you'll spend getting 8GB of DDR2 ($30 +\- per module on sites like Newegg) you can get a DDR3 compatible MOBO, CPU and 8 GB of DDR3 1600 RAM.

nah there around 80 for a full set of 8gb off ebay.

trade off my agp for that.

my ram and mobo and cpu can trade off for the 2nd gtx 260 and some of the money back for the initial 55 spent so in the end clost to nothing or 20-30 bucks to go from what I have now to a dual cpu's gpu's and double the amount of ram and for free or close to it for me it's worth the maybe 30 to upgrade and well worth the money spent if any.

I know I could go more current but I like xp still.
