Gentlemen,
Please help with thoughts, ideas or suggestions on my project! I am trying to add a wireless remote utilizing parts I have on hand. I am the proud owner of a NSM ES6 series jukebox. From what I can find the RC601 is a $150 part easy, I just don't have that in the budget and need to find a workaround for primarily controlling volume, the other features look great, too. This is a home use juke.
There is the capability to add an IR Receiver, and there is a handset 4 conductor style plug on the I/O board , it doesn't look like an RJ11, RJ22 perhaps?
I have an IR bubble receiver (COMCAST DTA) that terminates to a 3.5 audio plug. Can I make this work? Operating schematic shows - (Pin 1 GND, Pin 2 1.5V, Pin 3 SIG, Pin 4 n/u) - I am trying to integrate a Logitech Harmony style remote. I have not seen if remote codes are in the database, yet. Has anyone made their own universal remote work with a NSM ESVI wall mount jukebox?
The 3.5 appears to be a stereo, it has tip and ring, as well as shield. Which in audio would be COM, L, R AUDIO - I guess the TIP will be PWR, RING will be SIG, SHIELD will be GND. I have the means to create a cable with a female 3.5 to RJ22 crimp.
Please help!
