Iron Man 3

Well I won't be giving any spoilers out but if you read any review they seem to dish them out.

Is the movie worth watching?  Well it will make enough money if you didn't.

If you liked the last two and the Avengers, then you can either go see it (I saw it in 3D and wished I didn't) in 2D, wait until it hits the cheap cinema or get the DVD.

Yeah it is that bad.  I don't think it is anything to do with the actors or the special effects, this time around it has to do with the director and the script writer, which unfortunately is the same person.

I think the treatment this film got, was similar to what Lucas did with Phantom and Clones. Too much distortion and noise.  Where Empire and Jedi was written and directed separately, and it showed.

Go see it, but do not be surprised when you get home you start to mull it all over.   Will I see it again.  No, but I wouldn't mind firing up the first film again on the projector.

I hope Disney gets a new QA department or hires some new studio management, as Tron 2.0 wasn't that great either.  The new star wars thing scares me given the recent acquisition, and the probability to screw the pooch with more of the same poor management decisions.

I give it 2 stars out of 5.

I enjoyed watching it only cause Robert Downey jr. Is a great actor and the iron man suit is such a boss!

But what u think is ruining these action films is they way all the different company's compete with each other on how big the special effects are. It all becomes to much. They take it way to far that you don't even know what your watching and it becomes unrealistic.



On the other hand seeing pepper pots in the iron man suit was one of the most amazing thing I have seen.. EVER!

It's not the special effects.. it's the films.  Don't kid yourself, Iron Man 1 was simply ok and Iron Man 2 was barely watchable.  RDJ is a fantastic actor and perfect for the role so it tricks you into thinking all the rest (which is utter garbage) isn't as bad as it is. 

The most successful super hero films have been the Spiderman films and the Batman films.  Both have one thing in common... the villians.  Both Batman and Spiderman have interesting, colorful villains.  Iron man has a Lex Luthor wanna-be, Mickey Rork with Ferengi whips duct taped to his wrists and in this one The Mandarin (Orange).  Which I guess would be ok if these Marvel films had any trace of a plot, but alas they don't.  IM1 was an origin story for the first half of the film (which admittedly was awesome) and the equivalent of Superman vs some random bank robber in the second half.  IM2's plot.... what was it again?  Steal Iron Man's tech?  I know it wasn't very convincing considering they hired a guy who's clearly a super villain to reverse engineer it. 

I think these films are thankfully wearing out their welcome.  I can remember when the first Transformer film came out I was so excited to have the Transformers getting some attention, that I ignored most of the stuff wrong with the first film.  Looking back it was clearly mediocre at best but I desperately wanted it to be good because The Transformers need a good film franchise.  I think that's a lot of what's happening now with Marvel.  People love these characters and want to see them on the big screen, so they ignore the early warning signs that the franchise is in trouble only be "surprised" when they jump the shark only a couple of sequels later. 

I want to see Batman, Superman and all the rest in movies as much as the next guy... I just want them to be good movies that won't require a reboot a decade or so later.

The special effects are over the top. They make them sound good with all the music and acting but they could make a way better plot.
IM3 was just like a lame tv episode that will get forgotten about as soon as the next big thing comes along

Well thank goodness for opinions ) I happen to like both iron man movies and all three transformers. Yes they had weak points, but that hasnt stopped me from watching them multiple times. As soon as this comes out on Blu-Ray, I will be adding it to my collection.

I have it on DVD and I watch it regularly as the witty banter with RDJ and VK works. 

Michelle Monaghan is nice eye candy at any time of the day. 

Maybe IM3 was just too big for Shane.  Just watch the scroll at the end of the film.

Jon Favreau would have been a better choice.

I think most comics have interesting and colorful villains.  For instance the Extremis IM comic series villain is just a regular guy and it's a great story arc.  For me it has more to do with Screenplay as you mentioned and relating to the character/situation.  People relate to spider-man because he was a nobody who turns into something heroic.  People relate to Batman not because he's stupid rich, but because of the extreme loss he's suffered.  People relate to superman because of this glorious Ideal he has built that isn't attainable in the real world.  People relate to the X-Men because they're outcasts, etc.

I've never been able to relate to IM.  Sure, the tech is fun but it gets old fast, which is where I see IM1 doing well and then IM2/3 falling down on their faces because it's lost it's luster.
