Console Graphics - CS6 assistance, advice, etc
« on: April 28, 2013, 01:20:16 pm »
Ok, after playing around with this stuff for a while I think I have the initial concept idea in the works.  I'm having a bit of trouble though getting the effects I would like through contrast and whatever other tricks you PS wizards use.  You'll see what I mean...

Here's the base layout design without the background

and here it is with the background

What I'm trying to do is build a console that looks like you're viewing a spaceship's control panel.  I think my background is way to light and I don't have enough accent on my control art.  Any advice or tips?

have you considered doing the foreground in a complimentary color to make it pop out more? maybe a neonish yellow or blue?
or you can just tone down your background by about half of what it is now.

if your question one of subjective opinion, or how to use the tools to get what you want?
right now, with it all green it just looks monochrome, which if thats what you want, its fine. but maybe its not what you want.

Yeah I was hoping to do all green but I came to that thought as well.  Here's my second shot

IMO, I prefer the fisrt one. The blue and green one does not work for me.
