Smoked Plexi is the bomb

I used the amber smoked plexi this time for the monitor cover...and the Krylon Fusion black plastic spray paint on the back...left a square in the center for the screen - it is unbelievably pimp. I took pictures, but can't post them until I get them developed (I know, I know...get out of the dark ages and buy a digital camera).

Officially, this new setup is 1,479 times cooler than my last monitor cover with the clear plexi and the back-painted bezel.

Is there any kind of "spray on" product that would mimic smoked plexy on regular plexy?
I tried looking at my monitor through a scrap of (gray) smoked pley and it looked great, however I'm not sure I want to go to the exenpse of another plexy panel when my recently purchase my clear one.

Did you compare with the grey smoked?  I don't want to start a whole 'nuther debate but I'm just curious.  Seems like amber would bring out the color more, kind of like blue-blocker sunglasses, but grey is traditional.  I've yet to get mine and don't want to spend $$$$ on both.  I can't wait to get it now and improve my cab's coolness amount by 1,479!!!

I think the amber lets more light through, and lets it through with less color attenuation (I don't now the technical term for that).

Either way - it will look better than clear. I think the gray carries a coolness factor of 1,282 - which isn't much lower than the amber.  I think the traditional value is worth another 300 coolness points...but only to those who value the tradition...so place your bets

So what color and darkness level is best for a cab? Has anyone tried the stick on automotive tint? Obviously it would only work for glass. The advantage would be if it didn't turn out good you could just peel it off and if you already have glass you wouldn't have to buy another peice.

I don't know the "tint level" - but it was the lightest tint they had at Tap Plastics...
