u-track home made LED block
« on: April 24, 2013, 08:41:31 am »
Hello,
I've built a home made 12 LED block for my u-track. Cost me about £2 in parts, a bit of saving over the £30 shop price :)

I made it 12v (all pc molex cables come 5v and 12v) to save on the number of resisters required (using 5v would require 1 per led and the shop ones only have 6 LED's, mine needs 3).

All the LED's are in sockets so I can just pop them out and replace them whenever I want with any colour I want.

Here's some pictures. It was taken in the daylight with my camera so not the best view and to hand I only had a 9v supply so the brightness isn't what it normally is. I'm very happy.

Made a slight boo boo and wired the ground to the wrong end, hence the ugly looking wire in the diagram, but I'll not make the same mistake again.
