Here's my ongoing 'Galaxian Project'
« on: June 18, 2011, 09:41:20 am »
This is a dream I have at last put into action. Reliving my 80's childhood with my mates down the 'muzzies'. One of the joys of living in a UK seaside resort on the Essex sunshine coast of Clacton-on-Sea. Today's kids have missed out on so much social interaction like this with xbo's & ps3's etc.

It's a homebuild mdf cabinet running maximus with mame, atari 2600, snes, megadrive, mp3 jukebox & future pinball

The star pattern is from a cosmic photo I downloaded and I added the button borders & text in microsoft publisher. An ebay printer done the printing. Then just stuck it on with spray glue.
It's 100% controlled from the control panel using maximus although I'm going to add an extra hidden button for turning on the PC. At the moment I just stick my hand through the coin door.

Nice cabinet build!  I also like the very neat coin door installation. However that door is supposed to be in a frame. The hinge screws to the inside edge of the frame and the frame is bolted to the rear of the front panel with some little tabs. It means you can add artwork or whatever to the front panel and there will be no showing of hinge or screws. Did you not get the frame?

Very nice. I look forward to watching the progress.
The control panel is simple and to the point with very nice artwork.

And now for 'the workings' inside the cab.
