  • I want to build my own arcade controls!
I bought a 302 in 1 arcade and the guy gave me a 355 in 1 board free with it. I have hooked it up inside my 302 cab and it works, I can play the games fine except for the 3rd and 4th player on games like TMNT and X-Men (which i can pick diff toons on X-Men unlike TMNT only leo and mike available). Anyway my question is this, I am going to build my own cab for the 355 and focus on TMNT since its my fav but i really want to be able to play the Street Fighters (6 buttons) as well so is there a way to hook up a 4 player setup with 6 buttons for 2 players and the other 2 players with 2 or maybe even 4 buttons. I have done a ton of research trying to find answers with no luck using a 355. I am new to the arcade world but am pretty good with wires and building things. One thing I wanted to ask was could it be possible to use the same pin (like 25 and 26) 2 times since TMNT it only takes 2 buttons so buttons 5 and 6 are not used in this game and say player 3 and 4 only need 2 buttons for this game could they be wired to the same buttons as 5 and 6. I understand that if player 1 hits button 5 or 6 it might make player 3 jump or whatever but that is not a big issue as long as I can get it to work. Also I dont mind buying another jamma wire if this will solve my prob. the only other thing would be do i need 4 coin slots or is there a way to share credits, if not can someone share how to wire a coin slot up to each player?  Any help would be great!

The Tornado 355 in 1 board has only 2 player support.  AFAIK there is no way to play players 3 and 4 with only a jamma harness.  You might try a gamepad in the USB port to see if you can add the other players that way but I have not heard anyone having success with this.   TMNT is not 100% playable with this multi as the CPU is an ARM and underpowered for alot of the games on the board.

I may check on putting a NES pad in there and wiring it up. But a friend and I have played though it a couple times already and I don't see any trouble at all with this game no lag sound is never off or anything. Now the original Street Fighter seems to not have a good frame rate or something also Double Dragons is not great. But other than that I have had no problems with this running. I have played most of the popular ones like The Simpsons, X-Men, Super Mario Bros., even the later Street Fighters work fine just not the original. But I am thinking of just making it a 4 player 4 button so I have enough wires to hook all those up, that is only if I can coin-up 3rd and 4th players I will have to work on that part I guess if anyone knows please let me know. If I figure out how I will post it!

Double Dragon is a monster on emulated systems.  Go play it right now in MAME on your main computer and you'll see what I mean.  Some games just don't emulate as well as others.

Those extender boards are for the XXXX in 1 units which are based on a PC not the single arm processor that your XXX in 1 board uses.
